Barbara Homiak Garro's Artist Statement

The mystery of life in all its forms intrigues me. Nothing will stop me from painting it. Everything that keeps me alive comes from my passion to understand the intelligence that is life.

This engagement motivates non-stop experimenting. One result is the creation of a new art style: Abstract Synchronism, an instinctive, intuitive process, which I use for images I feel call for it.

My painting style motivates me to paint a single image to completion in total captivation. I literally respond to a vision that streams through my psyche. Time becomes relative. The process touches rapture.

In sync with the vision, sparkling colors can burst forth or variations of one color, like the isochromism technique found in "Life," a wood-grain painting on a slab of wood in my Abstract Synchronism style.

Time and again collectors and viewers mention individual paintingsthat give them feelings of peace. I am happy that my work speaks to them and the dialog offers viewers relaxation.

Collectors, clients, students and the curious often ask me, "How long did it take you to paint that?" My answer is always the same, "The time the image required to become real."

Award-winning artist, Barbara Garro, MA continues creating in her Abstract Synchronism style she developed to move her art into the Twenty-First Century. Clients hire Garro to help them Stage the Art in their living and working spaces, which includes refreshing and redressing their art.
