About The Blind Artist's Society

The Blind Artists Society started as a project of the Retina Research Foundation, Inc. a 501 (c)(3) public Charity, formed in 2004 to find cures for blindness, located in New York's Capital District.
The stated mission of the foundation was:
- Fund research at a dedicated research facility: The Retina Research Center
- Promote and support patient advocacy in ophthalmology
- Support and fund international educational activities and continuing medical education seminars
In addition to the Blind Artists Society web portal, our other major patient advocacy program was the charitable Eye Mission in Belize.
Retina Research Foundation Inc. closed its doors in 2011 and transferred its assets to the Northeastern Association of the Blind at Albany
